The call was simple enough: a pool that had not been used in over two years. What we found was a shell full of standing water, silt, branches and household debris, with the surface stained through and the waterline gone entirely.

We drained and cleared the shell by hand before touching the finish, then worked the surface back, treated the staining and rebalanced the water once it was refilled. The owners had assumed the pool was past saving and would need replacing. It did not - it needed clearing properly and finishing correctly.

A new pool build that needed its finish and its surround completed together. We applied the surface finish and plaster, then installed a full travertine-style tiled deck around the whole pool, mitred at the corners and set to drain away from the shell.

The deck is the part people actually stand on, so it was laid level and finished neatly at the coping rather than left as an afterthought.
